Frozen red bell pepper, sliced, raw is one of the methods of freezing fresh peppers. Freezing is one of the most effective ways to preserve products for a long time.
Frozen pepper preserves most of the beneficial properties of the fresh product. It can be used in various recipes, such as soups, stews, sauces, casseroles and other dishes.
Red bell pepper is rich in vitamins (A, B, C, E, K, PP), minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, iodine, phosphorus, fluorine, copper, manganese, sodium), and also contains fiber, proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
When choosing frozen pepper, pay attention to its appearance: it should be firm, without damage and signs of mold. Store frozen pepper in the freezer at a temperature not higher than -18 °C. The shelf life is usually 6 months.
Before using frozen pepper in a recipe, it should be thawed. To thaw, you can place it in the refrigerator for several hours or leave at room temperature for 20–30 minutes. After thawing the pepper can be used as well as fresh.
